The hammock bag is woven by women on small traditional looms that make fabric in strips of approximately 35 cm wide and is known as “Faso Danfani” which means fabric made in the homeland. The yarn is made of locally grown, organic cotton and hand dyed with GOTS certified dyes. The fabric of the bag is finished by twisting the warp into cords that connect to the handle hoops. They are twisted by our neighbor. This work is done with the UN program called Made 51 to help refugees and forcibly displaced people build back their lives with artisan work.
